A terminus is the stage a route starts from — where matatus queue, passengers board, and the day's trips are set in motion.

Routes on 2Safiri run between two points, with the stages in between recorded so fares match the distance actually travelled.
How a terminus works

Vehicles check in at a terminus
A matatu arrives at the stage and joins the queue. Position is first-come, first-served, so nobody argues about whose turn it is.

Passengers board and pay
Seats fill from the queue — booked in the app or taken at the stage. Fares go through M-Pesa or a scan of the vehicle's QR code.
- 03
The vehicle departs when it's full
Once loaded, the marshal releases it and the next vehicle moves up. The trip is tracked from the terminus to the last stage.

Stages along the way still count
Passengers flagged down mid-route are recorded against the same trip, and fares are charged for the legs they actually travel.
Which termini are covered?
Coverage follows the SACCOs on the platform — each one adds the termini and routes it already plies, so the network grows as operators join rather than being fixed by us. If your SACCO runs a route that isn't here yet, adding it takes a minute once you've registered.
